Even in developed countries within Europe, HIV and AIDS is a serious issue that has a deeper impact than on just those who are infected. UNAIDS estimates that over 730,000 individuals were living with HIV/AIDS in Western and Central Europe.
A total of 8,831 children born in the UK to HIV infected mothers had been reported by the end of June 2008. Of these, 816 had been diagnosed with HIV infection.
The issues surrounding children in Europe, particularly aids orphans in countries such as Romania and Ukraine are a growing concern.
Our Angelwish Partners focus on addressing the medical, nutritional, and educational needs of families living with HIV/AIDS. |
