New Hope for Cambodian Children

The Mission of New Hope for Cambodian Children (NHCC) is to work with NGOs and the Royal Government of Cambodia to assist children living with HIV/AIDS and their families.

The project has five components to accomplish this mission.

1. Transitional House for children referred from the pediatric HIV/AIDS clinic at the local provincial hospital

2. Residential care to orphans and abandoned children with HIV/AIDS.

3. NHCC is providing assistance to the Chea Chumneas provincial hospital for the new pediatric HIV/AIDS clinic at the hospital by loaning two experienced Khmer pediatricians to support the clinic and is buying equipment and medicines for the clinic. This clinic has started to treat 136 children with HIV/AIDS in its first seven months of service.

4. NHCC is also providing social support children attending pediatric HIV/AIDS clinics in five Cambodian provinces at the request of the Ministry of Health. NHCC is currently supporting over 400 children attending these clinics.

5. NHCC is also building a “Village” to care for 200 orphans and abandoned children with HIV/AIDS.
