Angkor Hospital for Children
Angkor Hospital for Children exists to provide much needed high-quality health care to the children of the Siem Reap Province , while educating and training Cambodian medical professionals. AHC is a project of Friends Without A Border, a U.S. based not-for-profit organization founded and directed by Kenro Izu.
AHC provides HIV/AIDS testing as well as counseling to positive children and their families. Their HIV/AIDS testing and counseling program has grown since the hospitals inception. Khmer nurses have been trained to provide the service and some now train new nurses in the same capacity. The nursing department provides information to families on how to prevent HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. The HIV program has also extended into our Home Care program, where HIV-positive children receive medical attention in their homes.
