CHAI - Swaziland
CHAI and the Ministry of Health in Swaziland have engaged in a number of activities to increase access and improve the quality of care available to pediatric patients, by rolling out the early infant diagnosis program; developing a program to help manage pediatric malnutrition using ready-to-use therapeutic food; and strengthening linkages in the health system in order to minimize the loss to follow-up to ensure patients receive adequate care and supervision.
CHAI is supporting the Ministry of Health to initiate an Expert Client Program that empowers and ensures greater involvement of people living with HIV/AIDS as active participants in care and treatment programs in order to increase treatment literacy, adherence, greater access to HIV testing, and quality of and demand for HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment services for adults and children.
