CHAI - Mozambique

The government of Mozambique and CHAI have partnered since 2002 to scale up access to high-quality care and treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS. In the past year, great strides have been made in addressing pediatric HIV/AIDS.

CHAI and Mozambique’s government have collaborated on a range of efforts, including drafting a plan to scale-up pediatric treatment; developing key job aides, including guidelines, training manuals, and a dosing wheel; training medical technicians; and making the best-quality pediatric antiretroviral medications available.

CHAI supports the operations at the Beira day hospital in Sofala, one of the hardest hit regions in the country, employing community healthcare workers to expand access to pediatric treatment.
