Angelwish was created to make it simple, yet rewarding for the public to help children living with HIV/AIDS. Our growth over the years has been the result of careful planning, calculated risks, and the fact that we were never doing it alone.
Keeping to our goals of running an effective and efficient organization and directing 100% of your donations to children living with HIV/AIDS, we sought out the best and the brightest who are doing amazing work on the ground and have partnered with them in a way that provides you with the ultimate benefit of knowing exactly where your contributions are going. All our partners commit that 100% of the support we send them will be used for the programs only. |

The Clinton Foundation’s HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI), works around the world at the invitation and in the service of national programs addressing Pediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment. We seek to understand and meet the healthcare needs of individuals, overcoming the obstacles and barriers that make obtaining access to services difficult for people living in the developing world. Our goal is to ensure both broad availability and enduring quality of HIV/AIDS care and treatment.
|
Without treatment, almost half of all children infected with HIV will die before their second birthday. However, in many countries, children do not have access to the care needed to save their lives. Since 2005, CHAI has been working increase access and improve the quality of pediatric HIV/AIDS treatment.
In the past year, the work has expanded into 33 countries, thanks to the donation of millions of dollars by UNITAID, an international drug purchase facility that provides critical medicines and diagnostics. In each country, the Clinton Foundation partners with organizations including: private, multilateral and bilateral donors, national and state governments, and international and local NGOs to develop the programmatic capacity to care for pediatric patients. The programs vary by country, dependent on the needs of each government, and often include support to address procurement of medicines and medical supplies, training of healthcare workers, and development of systems and tools to address the elements of care necessary to ensure children are given a chance to lead full, healthy lives.
